Talk:Potassium nitrate
From PyroGuide
Sir,its Potassium Nitrate-NPK 13 00 45 and the manufaturer provides following information about the product, and how i recrystlise it ? Npk 13 : 00 : 45 Potassium nitrate (KNO3) is a natural occurring mineral source of nitrogen. This enhances its application as a fertilizer to provide the soil ample amount of nitrogen. As a fertilizer potassium nitrate has an NPK rating of 13-0-45 which indicates 13.9%, 0%, and 45% of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium by mass, respectively. Will it work ?
purity do your fertilizer grades have? Maybe there are large variations in purity between different fertilizers. I source it from Yara (Krista-K Plus) and this is purer than 99.5% even as a fertilizer. I think no repurification will be needed then, even with color mixes. (Admiral)
I have fertilizer which has only 35% of KNO3 how i purify it ?
You can re-crystalise the fertiliser, and depending on what the other 65% is, it can be easy to get pure crystals of only one salt. However, my best suggestion is to get new fertiliser that IS potassium nitrate, instead of CONTAINING it. Best of luck. Admiral, I do not know the exact % of my fertiliser purity, but I know it to be very high. It is sold for hydroponic use, so any additives which might be insoluble are a big no-no, and since they are wanting as accurate addition of known quantities of nutrients as possible, purity is good.
